Microsoft shells out Greenfield online to improve its internet market and e-commerce business in Europe.Finally Microsoft made an agreement to acquire Greenfield OnlineInc, owner of popular European price comparison website ciao.com, ina move that will further extend Microsoft’s search and e-commerce services in Europe.
Ciao currently has more than 26.5 million unique visitors per monthacross seven countries, who so far have generated more than 5 millionproduct reviews. Ciao’s technology platform, online community anden tensive merchant relationships will be integrated within the LiveSearch platform to deliver a richer, more rewarding experience forboth advertisers and consumers.
Microsoft offered $17.50 per share in the transaction value across $486 million.
